Famed Palm Springs architect Donald Wexler planned and finalized a magnificent new steel home just before he passed away in 2015. This modern iteration of Wexler’s and Richard Harrison’s famous steel and glass houses from the 1960s is available for a limited set of tours during Modernism Week 2016. Located in the Movie Colony East neighborhood of Palm Springs, this architecturally important residence showcases the very best of Donald Wexler’s lasting midcentury modern design esthetic. These self-guided tours last 45 minutes and will be conducted by docents who will offer in-depth detail on Wexler and the unique features of residential steel construction. A detailed model showing the steel framing will be available for viewing, as will information about the homes state-of-the-art appliances and decor.
